It’s not possible, but oh how I wish pictures could capture smells. Then in the middle of winter you could look at the picture and sniff…

and oh….the smell of fresh picked strawberries!
They taste pretty good too.

See you there!
Food truck that is! The Best Little Oarhouse in Nova Scotia.

This is opening week for this new place and we’ve been wanting to check it out!
On a nice evening it’s just a nice little walk to get there, but it’s been so cool and windy that James & I decided that we were just gonna drive down and bring our food home.
There was little bit of a wait, after all it’s opening week. BUT, it was so worth it. The food is delicious! James had the Dude Burger and of course I had to try the fish & chips. Delicious home cut fries and a light batter…so good!

James enjoying his Rugged Dude Burger lol

They have a good selection
Check it out if you get chance! We will definitely be trying out more items on the menu this summer!
Ok, so I was NOT expecting this!! Freak weather today.
I peeked out my window this afternoon after David texted on his way home that it was…SNOWING!!!!!!
What?
Nope NOT expecting this!!!!
Another rainy day. This Winter is interesting.
Rainy days, snowy days, sunshine days. Low temperatures. High temperatures.
It’s quite a mix. Interesting, I’m not complaining. It’s not all piling up in SNOW like last Winter. Many days feel like Spring is on it’s way… could it be?

It turned into a gorgeous Spring-like day!

Tonight we were sitting down for dinner getting ready to eat and I looked outside and saw the MOST beautiful sight…
You have to be pretty quick to catch them! They visit us often, usually in the wee hours of the morning sometimes in the backyard and sometimes under the crab trees in the front yard.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cozy inside…it’s a BLIZZARD out there!
Yesterday these were the headlines for Nova Scotia…schools were cancelled, flights cancelled and delayed, Facebook was a buzz with people posting questions and comments as to whether the storm had started. It was windy, very windy all morning as we waited…

and waited… and at about 1:30pm yesterday it started. Snow and wind and yes siree, a good old fashioned East Coast Maritime Blizzard. It snowed and blowed all night!!

So today, again, there’s no school and we are cozy inside ( after shovelling) Well, I didn’t shovel this one. David had to work early so he was up at 3am snow blowing and a little guy came knocking on our door this morning wanting to shovel the driveway so James hired him! And then James went out and helped him and they did the back deck instead. We paid him ( gotta encourage them when they’re young) and then James finished the driveway with the snow blower.

So now, we are cozy inside eating pancakes with maple syrup because it’s Tuesday and it’s Shrove Tuesday aka Pancake Tuesday! Yum!

The sun is shining and everything is melting…ENJOY your storm day!
Whoa! The last day of 2015.

So much happened this year. So many things that I couldn’t have imagined. Good things…GREAT and Awesome things, but also a few very sad and heartbreaking things. That’s the way life is, you just never know what each year will bring.

This year, New Year’s Eve, we are having a quiet evening at home. Yes, I know…no exciting city to see how they celebrate New Year’s Eve. We just needed quiet and together. Sure I still have a Bucket List of ideas for other years…here’s hoping!

Tonight as 2015 passes to 2016, we are THANKFUL for having had another year and look forward to what a new year will bring! There are some exciting things already planned and here’s wishing for surprises and adventure along the way.
What are your thoughts and wishes as we celebrate this New Year’s Eve?
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
Today is an exciting day!!!! Good Morning and Welcome to your new home! Welcome to Bridgewater!!
The first Syrian refugee family has arrived on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Fadia Mekdad and her husband, Mohamed Al Kafri, and their daughters, Fatima and Farah.

( GAYLE WILSON PHOTO)
The family is sponsored by St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bridgewater, which had raised $23,000 to bring the family in. In addition to the cash, there were numerous contributions in kind. Tim O’Regan of O’Regan’s Toyota, for example, provided a minivan to pick the family up from the airport, and Bridgewater’s Bulk Barn has invited them to come to the store to stock their kitchen with spices and other foods. For the first week or so, they will be staying at the home of parishioners in town. At the end of the month, after they choose from among furniture that was donated, they’ll be moving into an apartment in town. ( Lighthouse Now)

We hope you finally feel very safe and as you begin your new life, settle in, and learn some English, we hope and pray that you’ll feel welcome and it will be a smooth adjustment. We are so thankful to the BIG hearts of the families that have sponsored you!
Get those shovel’s ready! It’s time to dig out the snowblower and shovels because today Eastern Canada is expected to get the first major snow storm of the season!

And as Frankie Mac Donald would say…get your storm chips ready!
At 10am this morning it started.

And 5 minutes later…
And then this afternoon…snow, ice pellets, rain, ice pellets, snow…
And then rain and ice pellets.
In Bridgewater, I think we faired pretty well. Not a major one after all, just very pretty.
