Nothing says East Coast and Christmas more than a great feed of lobster. After all, it’s Lobster season here along the East Coast and it’s time to enjoy our annual Christmas time tradition of Lobster ( a little extra seafood too)

I love a nice evening walk. And this time of year it’s so much fun especially to walk along city streets…oh how I miss that!! So, in my case it’s small town.
My small town stores have beautiful window displays for Christmas!
So pretty!! I may have to try to get to the city to window shop.
I have been so fortunate, so blessed and I’m truly thankful to have travelled to some really interesting and beautiful places in December over the last few years. I was thinking about that this weekend …missing some places, events, people.
The World celebrates Christmas! They light things up. It is a special time of year…
Here are just a few places I’ve been thinking about…
Bangkok, Thailand
Phuket, Thailand
Shanghai, China
Beijing, China
Of course Shenyang, China
Seoul, South Korea
And I can’t forget Brazil…
Wow, it was fun to look back a bit…
All these places are lovely, I am so happy I’ve been there…there are so many more places to see. I often said I would love to spend some time in New York City in December but then there’s places closer to home…maybe Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Niagara on the Lake. I have been to all these but not at Christmas time. BUT no matter where we are or where we travel, one very special place this time of year will ALWAYS be HOME!
The town of Bridgewater kicks off the Christmas season with it’s annual parade and fireworks! I just love this tradition…even on a cool rainy evening.
Such a wonderful evening. Thank you Town of Bridgewater for an awesome event!
No words needed. Thanks girlfriend!!!!
This weekend, Friday night and Saturday night, Bridgewater is all lit up with CREATIVITY! It’s the Afterglow Art Festival and this year it’s two evenings.
What is Afterglow Art Festival? It is a free art at night celebration of community creativity held in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. For three years the event has brought together artists of all kinds, from budding young artists to experienced professionals from across Lunenburg County to bring exposure to the talent of our community.
This year our daughter Laura is there with Face Forge.
Lots of music and activities and artists…
And my favourite ( other than Face Forge, of course)…
…floating lanterns, LOTS of them, floating down the river
If you NEED gas today you just may be out of luck!
LOW prices and gas shortage at the refinery right now means that on this beautiful sunny Saturday, when folk are hittin’ the roads for some last weekend of August adventure before school starts…
well let’s just say I hope you gassed up BEFORE today because there’s NO GAS in Bridgewater!
PS. We got some this morning just in time.
Enjoy your last gorgeous weekend of August 2015!
…bring your friends in one by one 🎵🎵
Summertime is packed full of kids programs…soccer, swimming lessons, learn to sail, kids clubs, church camps and VBS ( Vacation Bible school)…SO MUCH for kids to do these days!!
This week I have been helping out in the kitchen during “Journey Off The Map” VBS. We’re making and providing fun and interesting snacks each night. 72 kids the first night and 90 by the end of the week. It was lots and lots of fun!!!
Thursday night was a real favorite…
Tomorrow night is the closing with a BBQ. What a great WEEK it’s been!!
It’s Parade night in Bridgewater, if the rain holds off.
It’s South Shore Exhibition Week and the kick off is the Grand Street Parade tonight. Lots of fun.
In 1891 Bridgewater was the home to the first Exhibition. Records indicate that the Lunenburg County Exhibition was to be held in Bridgewater on the 5th & 6th days of October. Lots of changes since then!!
The name has changed from the Lunenburg County Exhibition (1891) to the Lunenburg County Exhibition Commission (1960) the Lunenburg County South Shore Exhibition (1967) and finally in 1973 the name was changed to and still remains The South Shore Exhibition “The Big Ex”
** UPDATE** Well…it doesn’t surprise me. Rain, rain, rain ALL day long… and so the parade is cancelled for today. I think it’s the first time it ever had to be postponed. And now because of a previous appointment out of town, we won’t get to see it.
I can’t help but share this cute little picture, seems fitting the last couple weeks.
I hope the sun is shining in your world!
Update*** Wednesday Night was perfect weather
And Bridgewater Open Bible Church’s float advertising VBS “Off the Map” won 1st place in the community category. Congratulations!
It’s not very often that there is a summer event, a fun thing you can do with your family, that is entirely free. Well today I was happy to be a part of a group that wants to encourage families but also show them that Jesus loves them and has a plan for their life if they let HIM.
Bridgewater Open Bible Church in Bridgewater, NS has been putting on a Community Fun Fair at Shipyards Landing for the last few years. It’s so much fun for the WHOLE family. Face painting, games, bouncy houses, music, entertainment, cotton candy, BBQ, and lots more and……….it’s ALL FREE!!!! Just come with your family and enjoy it. It’s a way to show LOVE in our community.
This year we are home and David & I helped a little. We manned the Bouncy House Obstacle Course haha. FUN!!
