We’re not the only ones visiting Cuba this year! This will be the first time to Cuba for David & I and seems like history is being made in that small tropical country South of the United States. In case you didn’t recognize it, from The Int’l Spectator the IMAGE is Air Force One descending into Cuba.
United States President Obama is in Cuba for a historic three-day visit and talks with its communist leader. He is the first sitting US president to visit since the 1959 revolution, which was the start of decades of hostility between the two countries. President Obama will meet President Raul Castro, but not retired revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, and the pair will discuss trade and political reform. Obama first announced moves to normalize ties between the two countries in December 2014 and after much secret talks and meetings, the US reopened its embassy in Havana in August 2015, a month after Cuba reopened its embassy in Washington.
This is just the beginning of travel between the US and Cuba.
While we won’t get to Havana this time, I’m getting excited! Just 22 more days until we fly!
