Reunited and it feels sooooo good 🎵🎵
This is truly the highlight of my whole trip. I am spending almost a week in Shenyang with my Chinese friends. These friends became like family, our family when we lived in Shenyang. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and be able to experience everything Chinese.
Looking back July 2014 at the airport. Goodbyes…so sad…wondering if I would ever see them again…
And I must say “Hellos” are so much better!!!! This time their son Wei Chen Xi very slim and handsome ( he lost all the weight he gained being in Canada) driving the car now and he is officially a pilot for China Southern Airlines. Wei Quan and Li Dan Yao so excited to have “their” foreigner stay at their home. I even have their suite for the week complete with a very hard Chinese bed.
I had hoped I would get the opportunity to go to Shenyang. Xiamen is a few hours flight south of Shenyang. I called my Chinese friends and told them what I was thinking of doing and without hesitation, they said I MUST come to Shenyang!!! I told them it would be for a few days and I would book a hotel close to their place and again, no hesitation…YOU MUST stay at our home ( You are FAMILY) and we will pick you up at the airport no matter what time you arrive, and what do you want to see and do and eat and…we will look after EVERYTHING! Haha, typical Chinese fashion.
So…I am spending a bit of time in my favourite city in China, walking in my favourite places, eating my favourite foods, spending time with my Chinese family and just feeling so blessed and thankful to be in this place that has captured my heart…yet once again.
It really feels like I’ve come home…my China home. I just wish David was here to enjoy it with me!
It was so wonderful!! Lots of reminiscing, lots of new memories. My days in Shenyang went far too quickly…I really miss my China friends, and treasure the time we had together!!
I love this! I’m so glad you had this chance and took it.
