I love when family and friends come to visit. It usually means that we get to show them the most picturesque places in our area. I never tire of this…

We had a fabulous day!
Today my husband starts Vacation!!!

A little earlier than expected BUT because of the crazy weekend and lots of overtime he took an extra day. So he’s up early sipping coffee on the deck trying to get in to vacation mode.
Hmm? What to do today? WE have 3 days to do some things with his twin brother while they are still here.
I picked up a copy of the 2016 Nova Scotia “Doers & Dreamers” book as well as the Culinary Guide.
Oh the possibilities & choices….

I love our East Coast province ❤ and I love summertime to explore and see and try new things!
This is such a great picture captured by a local photographer… Catherine Rose Photography.

Enjoy your last day of June!
James was away on the weekend volunteering at a really cool event!

LOTS of really cool obstacle course events!
He came home a wee bit muddy…
But I do what I always do…
As good as new! Phff! Just a little bit of mud 😀
He also managed to get to a really interesting place along the coast and get some photos. NOW I have another place to add to my list this summer.

Nova Scotia has so many beautiful places.
Where are you traveling this summer?

Officially!! Today is the longest day of the year with over 15 hours of daylight!
Bring it on!!!! ( The last couple days have been gorgeous)
SPONTANEOUS!!!!!!
I really shouldn’t just wander around shops…I see things!
I had to pick up something yesterday at one store and decided to wander in another store. I hadn’t been there for awhile. Well, I was doing ok and ready to leave when I saw it!

Fabric panels of Canadian cities. And…

coordinating fabric.
Ahhhhh…. I had an idea! A little mid week project for yesterday and today.

A lap blanket/picnic table cloth/picnic blanket for our hikes. PERFECT for our 30th Anniversary Across Canada Trip!
It rolls up tiny for in our hiking bag and also folds nice to put in our guest room when not in use.
I even personalized it 😀
Haha, lots of fun! David loves it, but of course, cautions my spontaneity!!
I figured I really need to get planning and an itinerary made for our Across Canada Trip.
We are less than 6 weeks away from beginning this fun adventure and I need to get my research done. The problem is… ok there are a few problems…
So many places to see and so little time ( and money) We only have 3 weeks.
AND…doing all this research at night while I am relaxing , gets me excited and anxious and I can’t turn my “thinker” and ideas off. It takes me forever to fall asleep.
BUT, it’s fun! I absolutely LOVE to research places and plan trips to places we will visit. It’s so interesting, our World is amazing, and Canada…well Canada is an absolutely beautiful country!
3 weeks…first part driving, second part flying and renting a car ( twice), and third part flying back to get our car and driving home.
As I have been researching, I have been saving some pics of places we plan to see…here’s a peak of our proposed itinerary in pictures.
Excited to go on a road trip in our little Volvo 😀

Can you see why I’m so excited? ahhhh….
There are so many beautiful places and neat things to do…many of them we have seen before, some a few times, I just have to fine tune it so we don’t miss the things that are important and so we don’t exhaust ourselves trying to do too much! The more I research the more I see…PLUS I want to leave some room for spontaneity!
Oh to be a travel planner…BUT then I guess the fun comes when you can actually carry through with your plans!
What could be more romantic than a tropical wedding?
That is exactly what our son and his fiancé chose for their special day and it was spectacular.
The sky, the water, the sun and the tropical coral and turquoise colors they chose…made for the most gorgeous of pictures.
Here are some of my favourites!

These are just a few pics capturing the wonderful day!
Congratulations Andrew & Kristina ❤

Cuba is well known for a few things…cigars, rum and…it’s old cars. David & I LOVED all the old cars everywhere. From the really old ones not in great shape on back roads in the countryside to the shiny colourful ones that were restored and/or cleaned up a bit to be a taxi for a small fee…

We REALLY wanted to get to Havana the capital of Cuba and see more cars and more history but time just didn’t allow. Fortunately for us there were plenty of cars for hire and one guy was even down from Havana with his Oldsmobile….so what did we do? We hired a few of them and enjoyed cruising around in style!
1949 Oldsmobile from Havana~

Lots of oldies…
1934 Purple Ford with Rumble Seat~

And then for Wedding pics we had the Pink & White 1957 Cadillac, 1955 white Chevy, and the Yellow & White Bel Air

So much fun!!!!!!
We even bought a beautiful canvas to remember the fun we had…

Drivin’ in style!
And of course I can’t forget the shopping. Yes, market shopping is the best! There were 2 markets close by that we visited a couple of times.

James & Kristina blending in… 😀

A Chinese restaurant in Cuba…too bad I didn’t have chance to try it out 😛

Cuban cigar making

There’s something for everyone at the market! Enjoy your Saturday.
