Happy 1st Anniversary!

Wishing you a wonderful day celebrating!! xo ❤

A Sunny Saturday

Whoa! What another gorgeous day! It’s sunny and the flowers are blooming. I LOVE SPRING!

Today we enjoyed Easter dinner at Mom & Dad’s. It was so delicious thanks Mom!

David LOVED dessert! ( 3 kinds of pie)

And then this afternoon while David went on the bike, Abby and I relaxed a bit outside.

James has some of his SMU friends visiting and they went hiking.

Ahh…Easter weekend!

Spring Cleaning!

I spent another day outside. It was a beautiful day again. Not as nice as yesterday but still nice to be outside. I have all my gardens cleaned the “initial clean”. Dead leaves and junk out and all of them are raked. Now I just need to get the lawns raked.

All of that garden work makes me realize it’s that time of year to spruce things up!!

I’m gonna be ambitious and start going through my house room by room and get it all sparkly and shining. I’m also hoping to get rid of some clutter ( not that I have a lot) BUT we all need to do a little purging once in awhile!

Besides…when warm weather days FINALLY arrive, I want to be outside!!! Yesterday and today made me realize that there is no way I want to be in the house when it’s gorgeous outside.

Spring Cleaning Ahead…

Tuesday Tease

Yes…I know. The gorgeous amazing weather today was just a tease of what is to come…

BECAUSE here on the East Coast of Canada it is just a little too early to have temperatures as nice as this. That’s ok, today was the most enjoyable day!

The next few days will be cooler but I am just so thankful for today. One day for some “garden therapy” and to anticipate the wonderful season that will soon be here. Which means, I better get some things done inside so that when the weather is nice like this again I can be outside!

The next couple days…

It started this afternoon, and today and tomorrow and maybe even Wednesday morning are gonna be nice! I mean sunny and warm temperatures! It has been so cold and grey and snowy here that once again everyone is talking about the weather…”WAIT TILL TUESDAY… IT’S GONNA BE NICE”

This afternoon the thermometer on my back deck was almost 20 degrees. The crocus flowers were in bloom and David went for a ride! He actually took our daughter Laura for a ride. She’s living at home again for a while and has never been on his bike.

Ahh… I love this kind of weather!

I even got out my lounge chair and just maybe tomorrow I can spend a little time there!

A little french on FRIDAY oui oui

Ahh oui! It’s Friday!

I LOVE Fridays!

Especially after this week. I have had a crazy headache most of the week. I’m not sure why, I haven’t had headaches like that for years. AND…David had a nuts work week! Yesterday there was a major break down on a machine and he was at work for 17 hours!!!!! Yep, 17 hours. So by the time Friday evening rolls around and he finally got home from work, all I could say was “please Lord let him have a quiet weekend with no breakdowns that the guys have to call him in”

As you know we lived in China and Brazil for a few years as expats with my husband’s work. It was an AWESOME opportunity to meet people from all over the world. We still stay in touch with many of them and when the opportunity arises that someone is traveling to Nova Scotia on business with the company we like to try our best to see them. Such was the case last night.

Franck, from France, was here for a week at the valley plant, so not in Bridgewater, BUT he was traveling through Halifax. His flights were pretty messed up the first of the week and he was late getting here and with only 3 hours sleep started a full week of meetings. The only day he really had was Friday after work when he drove from Kentville back to Halifax to stay the night before flying home to France on Saturday.

So…Franck & I messaged this week, and David & I decided to meet him in the city Friday night to catch up! Much of the evening was “company talk” with David & Franck filling each other in on there area of responsibilities and projects but it was nice to reminisce a bit too.

It was so great to see Franck and see what he’s been up to the past 3 years! I think the experience of living in a small community of expats in a foreign country brings you together and keeps you close. You become family for each other on holidays and special events. These are moments you never forget!!

Take care dear friend and hopefully our paths will cross again real soon. Safe travels!

Au revoir cher ami

It’s National Tartan Day!

Good Morning!

April 6 is National Tartan Day!

April 6th is National Tartan Day—a day for celebrating the contributions to our country of the more than four million Canadians who have Scottish ancestry. Canada joins with many other countries around the world, recognizing the achievements of their citizens who hail from Scotland. National Tartan Day is celebrated annually on April 6, the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath, the Scottish declaration of independence, in 1320.

The tartan is a traditional woolen fabric woven in patterns that look checkered or striped (plaid) All of  Canada’s provinces and territories, except for Nunavut have provincial tartans.

Canada’s national tartan, the Maple Leaf Tartan, was created in 1964 by David Weiser in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of Confederation in 1967. It was proudly worn by Canadians for many years and elevated to official status in 2010.

While I don’t have any Canadian Tartan ( I really need to get something) I have many things that are Nova Scotia Tartan, so I’ll be wearing tartan all day!

Have a great day!😂🤣
