A new hobby…short lived…

When we were on our cruise vacation, our son James tried out a new hobby!

And here is how he made use of this new hobby!

A great way to showcase the newest addition to our small town Bridgewater.

And a view of the Dingle Tower in Halifax

BUT…SADLY…NOW due to new drone regulations implemented  March 16, 2017…it will not be possible to do any more of these type of videos.!

Oh well, thanks James. Your videos are great and it was nice while it lasted!!

Wear RED!

Yesterday was “green day” and today is “red day” BECAUSE I am showing my support! We have a few friends who are RCMP and RCMP wives and this day is near and dear to their heart.

Wear Red on Saturday March 18th for the RCMP.

Remembering
Reg #57789- Cst. Richer DUBUC, 42
End of Watch March 6, 2017 Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle, Quebec, CANADA

The Spouses of the RCMP are asking you to Wear Red wherever you are, whatever you are doing on Saturday March 18, 2017, the date of his Regimental Funeral, in support of fallen RCMP Officer, Richer DUBUC, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on March 6, 2017. Constable DUBUC leaves behind a wife and four children.

It is with great sadness that we must embark on another WearRed campaign, we in the RCMP family would like to say how truly grateful we are for the outpouring of love and support with our previous WearRed campaigns in June of 2014, January, 2015 and, April, 2016. Red was worn across our great nation and worldwide. Our officers and their families felt and appreciated your love and support. We thank-you from the bottom of our hearts for making such tragic times in our lives a little less lonely.

The Spouses of the RCMP have created an event to show their support for fallen Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Integrated Border Enforcement Team, RCMP Officer, Richer DUBUC. We cannot all be in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC for the memorial service but we can still show our support wherever we are. Let us WEAR RED on Saturday March 18th to show that the fallen officer, his family, and all members of the RCMP are in our hearts. Please share this event and invite all your friends.
It would be wonderful if the Sea of Red RCMP Serges weren’t alone on Saturday, stand with them! Thank-you!

Constable Richer DUBUC will be laid to rest on Saturday March 18, 2017 at 3:00 pm (Eastern Time Zone). Garrison St-Jean Military Base (25 chemin du Grand-Bernier Sud, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec). It will be a RCMP Regimental Funeral.

So today I will wear red and say thank you to the many RCMP that so faithfully serve and protect our country!

Happy GREEN Day! 💚☘💚☘

Cheers! Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ( Starting the morning with a green smoothie lol)

Do you know how St. Patrick’s Day came to be?

It all started in the 400s with Patrick, an Irish priest. After his death on March 17, 461, he was celebrated as a saint in the church. St. Patrick’s Day as we know it, was brought to North America by Irish immigrants in the 1840s following the potato famine. They turned the day into a celebration of their home country.

St. Patrick’s Day occurs annually on March 17 in observance of the death of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. What began as a religious feast day in the 17th century has evolved into a variety of festivals across the globe celebrating Irish culture with parades, special foods, music, dancing…and a whole lot of green. 💚

And now for the green…

Green clothes

Green dog…well just a shamrock scarf around her neck

Green snap chat and bitmojis

Can you tell I have too much time on my hands today…lol

AND…of course GREEN FOOD!!! ( no Irish stew and green beer haha)

Wishing you a great weekend! 💚

Sunday Spring forward

No sleeping in…

David made it to church on time! I stayed home today still a little dizzy. BUT I did get all my blog posts caught up! So…if you have a few minutes, grab a cup of coffee and curl up and go back a week in time on my blog and you can read all about the wonderful cruise vacay we enjoyed! If you have never tried cruising, I highly recommend it!

Enjoy your day friends!

Abby did you have a good time?

It’s nice to be home! I am having a bit of dizziness…normal for me after flying and spending a week on a ship.

Today it’s COLD!!!! We are catching up with laundry and getting food and of course picking up our Abby girl from Nana & Papa’s. We surprised them, a bit early, because they thought we would arrive home on March 13th.

Did you have a good vacation Abby?

Heading out on the Norwegian Pearl this morning. This is our fifth cruise and the 4th time for us on this particular ship. It just feels like home ❤ The Norwegian Pearl just finished a 2 weeks refresh at dry dock in Miami. There are lots of new updated features and we are the first aboard to check it out. How exciting!!

Here is the itinerary…

And here are some pics…

We arrived bright and early at the Port of Miami and checked in and got our stateroom cards. We had to wait until 12:00 to embark. First stop the Great Outdoors for a bit of food. It was overcast and windy with intermittent rain, so the pools and furniture were tied down. After discovering a mechanical problem during rechecks and requiring a part, we were delayed in our sail away. We were scheduled for 4pm, the first ship to leave, BUT ended up being the last ship to finally leave port. Two Norwegian, Two Royal Caribbean, and a Disney Cruise ship all went ahead of us. There’s so much to do on a ship, and David finally had someone to play a game of chess as we watched the other ships leave port. Since it was rainy and not great for being outside to watch the sail away, we had a lovely dinner ( complete with LOTS of desserts), and enjoyed some great Classical music.

We ended our day being rocked asleep in our cozy refurbished stateroomBon Voyage!

And so it begins…

Winter Vacay time

Today is the beginning of our Winter Vacay!

Bright and early, up at 3am

and off to the airport for a 6:40 flight to Toronto

AND

and Toronto to Miami.

I love vacation time but Winter vacations are the VERY BEST!!! It’s the escape from snow and cold to sun and sand that REALLY makes me HAPPY!!!!!

Glenn & Holly ( David’s older brother and wife) are with us this vacay. We are looking forward to a great time! Goodnight from Miami!

FAT Tuesday 😂

FAT Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday aka…Pancake Day is the day in February or March immediately preceding Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. So…the date is determined by Easter. Pancakes are associated with the day preceding Lent because they were a way to use up rich foods such as eggs, milk, and sugar, before the fasting season of the 40 days of Lent.

This year Pancake Day is February 28th and for dinner tonight guess what we’ll enjoy?
