Advance Polls

It’s not only election time in the USA this fall, BUT it is Municipal and School board elections in Nova Scotia this month, October 15th to be exact.

TODAY the advance polls open! It’s time to vote!

And before I did anything this morning, from the comfort of my living room in my Pj’s…I voted!

Oh, and by the way… my Abby Girl is 9 today!

Hard to believe this little one fit in a Timbit box…

Community

I live in a small town on the east coast of Canada. Bridgewater is on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Bridgewater is surrounded by interesting communities and special places, I think so anyway. I never get tired of exploring. All through the year there are special events, suppers, auctions, festivals, markets, and just fun things to attend…community things. Things that bring people closer.

Next week we have some time to explore and we plan to do some fun day trips. But what I really enjoy is being able to drive just 15-20 minutes to enjoy some of these great things.

Like… the “Annual Visitors” that come to Mahone Bay this time of year

Or a stop in Lunenburg for a quick walk along the waterfront and to get a treat one last time before this sweet shop closes for the season

And a home cooked meal at a local firehall in the community where we used to live and chance to catch up with some old friends

This is community and some of the many things we enjoy.

Have a great day!

Leaf Watch!

I am officially on leaf watch! The colours are really starting to pop in our part of Canada. It probably is helped by the frosty mornings we have been having the last few days ( I don’t want to put the heat on yet)

Just in time for the Thanksgiving weekend and…David just needs to get through this week and he has a week vacation. A perfect time for us to do some day trips and chance to capture the beauty of the leaves!

canada-day-ws img_7596Stay tuned…

It’s September and the END of one season and START of another!

The start of another beautiful season, unofficially, BUT I ALWAYS consider September 1st the start of Fall.

And as we start a new season, I’ve decided to start a new season…

It’s time to say goodbye to blogging. Yes… it’s time 😢

Blogging has really brought me so much enjoyment over the past few years. I’ve learned a lot and even met a lot of very nice people ( online) through this blog. BUT, after careful consideration, I have decided that with this new month and season, I will officially say goodbye.  Thank you so much my regular readers for your encouragements and comments. It was so very thoughtful and has meant so much!!! I will miss you very much.

Wishing you all the BEST as you enjoy life to the fullest every day!

With LOVE ❤

Is it the dawn of a new Trudeau era?

Pierre Trudeau, was among the first western leaders to recognize “new China” when he established diplomatic ties in 1970, later becoming the first Canadian PM to travel there in 1973.

NOW, more than 4 decades later, his son, Justin Trudeau Canada’s newest PM and his wife and daughter are making their first official visit to China. They arrived in Beijing today to start their 6 day visit. Exciting times as Canada will strengthen ties with the world’s new economic superpower, China.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau with China President Xi JinpingThere are many opinions out there regarding China and regarding Justin Trudeau as Prime Minister. All I can say is after having lived in China, I like that Canada wants to strengthen the relationship and Justin…well no one can say that he isn’t out there representing Canada in world politics. He is NOT taking a back seat. Love their families visibility in the media representing Canada. His wife Sophie is such a refreshing inspiration to all women.
